 What's New for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

If you want the robust performance capabilities of a Jeep with the functionality of a pickup truck, the Gladiator is the model to take a closer look at. This midsize truck first made waves in 2019 as Jeep's first truck model in years, and it has benefited from several improvements since its launch. The 2023 Gladiator introduces the Freedom Edition package and several optional features with the Overland's High Altitude package. The Freedom Edition is exclusively available with the Sport trim, and it adds black wheels, all-terrain tires, steel rock rails, winch-ready steel bumpers, body-colored fender flares, and LED exterior lights.

The four-door Gladiator pulls its design language from the Wrangler. It has a comparable, bar-themed grille, protruding fenders, removable doors, rounded headlights, and a boxy shape. At the rear, the truck bed extends for five feet for optimized functionality.

Exterior features on the base Sport trim are a damped tailgate, a folding soft top, a folding windshield, 17-inch steel wheels, and 32-inch tires. Higher trims add larger wheels, auto headlights, privacy glass, all-terrain tires, rock rails, skid plates, a tonneau cover, a spray-in liner, a hardtop, a tow hitch, and other exciting features.

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is equally impressive on the interior. Base-level features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio system, a push-button starter, a USB port, a 7-inch touch display screen, and voice controls. Higher Gladiator trims give you a dual-zone auto climate control system, an Alpine sound system, a larger display screen, a navigation system, rear USB ports, a leather-covered steering wheel, an auto-dimming rear mirror, and others. Safety tech includes a front-facing camera, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and rear parking sensors.

The Gladiator continues to deliver the same solid performance as in previous model years. The two available powertrains are a 285-horsepower, 3.6-liter, V6 gas engine and a 260-horsepower, 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 system. The first engine is available with a manual or eight-speed auto transmission. The auto transmission is standard for the turbo-diesel engine. Some of the Gladiator's mechanical features are trailer sway damping, front, and rear locking differentials, a two-speed transfer case, a front electronically disconnecting stabilizer bar, and Fox shock absorbers.
